Akkamahadevi Ayurvedic Medical College and Research Centre which was coloured in 2016 is located in Bidar, Karnataka. This affiliated college for boys and girls is recognised from Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM). Located in close proximities to the Butti Basavanna Mandir with capacity enrolment of 226 students and the institute has 35 faculties. At present, the college has only one course it provides and that is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery or commonly known as the BAMS with the field of specialisation in Ayurvedic medicine.

Akkamahadevi Ayurvedic Medical College and Research Centre has prided in possessing several tools that can help support student learning and or welfare. This local library is used by students to access various medical literature and research works in the college. For a result, to support the academic and an additional curricular and co-curricular activities the college has an auditorium for major events and seminars. Besides, student amenities such as playgrounds that provide recreational services can be used by students to enhance on physical exercises. There is also an eating place on the campus, that also serve as the eating place commonly referred as the cafeteria. Another of the college’s requirements scanned up to the current needs of education, the college boasts of good IT facilities. There are two different hostel sections for the boys and girls respectively, this way all the students who choose to live in the hostels are well accommodated. The college provides sufficient and modern tool and equipment facilities for practical teaching and learning and research. First aid facilities are available for any health emergencies at the health centre level. Further, guest/Waiting rooms are available for visiting faculties and families of the students in the college.

Akkamahadevi Ayurvedic Medical College and Research Centre teaches one course, which is the full time BAMS. This thorough programme takes six years, in the end of which students get profound knowledge and practical experience in Ayurveda. The college has an intake capacity of 30 of this programme; this position was approved with a view of facilitating an ideal student teacher ratio and quality education.

Courses offered at Akkamahadevi Ayurvedic Medical College and Research Centre are mainly recognised after passing the NEET examination. This test is compulsory for the students who wants to get admission in the BAMS course at national level.
