Balasaheb Desai College Patan was established in 1969. The college currently offers programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level in the field of Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Applications and IT.

Balasaheb Desai College offers BA, BSc, BCom and BCA at the UG level and MA, MSc and MCom at the PG level. Research Scholars can also pursue MPhil and PhD programmes at the doctoral level. Admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is based on merit. Balasaheb Desai College Patan is affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur and has been accredited by the NAAC with ‘A+’ Grade.
