BITS Design School, Mumbai offers scholarships to meritorious students. The institute offers scholarships based on merit, financial capability, special needs, as well as scholarships to ensure diversity in gender and geography. Candidates will have to ensure that they meet the eligibility before applying for BITS Design School scholarships. Scholarships offered by BITS Design School Mumbai are Merit and Means Based Scholarships, Academic Merit Scholarship and Diversity Scholarship.
In order to avail any BITSDES scholarship, the student must be a citizen of India, have completed grade 10 and grade 12 from a recognised board, have received an offer of admission from BITS Design School for its 4-year B Des (Hons) programme and meet the specific mandated criteria mentioned against each category. BITS Design School scholarships are reviewed and awarded annually based on the student's academic performance and conduct, attendance, and payment of tuition and residential fees. Considerations for BITS Design School scholarships will be accounted for after due evaluation of the student's application form and documents provided. Scholarships offered by BITSDES are mutually exclusive and cannot be combined. If a student qualifies for more than 1 type of scholarship, they will be offered the scholarship with the higher tuition fee waiver, but will not be offered the sum of two or more tuition fee waivers. National Institute of Design - Design Aptitude Test Prelims (NID‑DAT Prelims)/ IIT Bombay Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED)/ BITS Design Aptitude Test (BITSDAT) scores are accepted for BITS Design School BDes (Hons.) admission. Following that, candidates will have to appear for a portfolio interview. Candidates will have to bring a physical or digital portfolio showcasing their best design work around four topics that will be communicated individually to shortlisted applicants. This includes drawings, sketches, digital designs, photographs etc. The portfolio should be a reflection of the applicant's creativity, design and problem-solving skills.
