BMSM College of Education was founded in the year 2005, and makes its place among one of the best and prominent educational hubs present in Gurdaspur, Punjab. This co-educational college associated with the local university offers teacher education programmes as it major focus. Affiliated by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), BMSM College of Education establishing the future of educational aspirants. Located on a vast land of 6 acres, the college provides a favourable learning environment for the learners. Currently, the total number of students enrolled in the institute is 145 with a faculty of 16 members This way, all students are given their full attention in regard to education.

BMSM College of Education has adopted modern technological infrastructure in their college with a view to improving student learning facilities. A well resourced library is the nerve centre of learning, whilst up to date Information Technology facilities educate the students on modern technology in learning. For the needy, hostellers facilities for both male and female students are provided in the school for boys and girls respectively. There is also a health centre of Campus with first aid who provides health services to the students. It is the sports fans’ opportunity to take care of their health and spend several working hours in the college sports complex. In general, auditorium acts as facilities that host numerous occasions and seminars thus enhancing students lifestyle at the campus. The college also has a cafeteria, Internet facility, andtransportation services availing the comfort of a student friendly environment.

There are two full time courses taught at the BMSM College of Education. The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme commenced in the session 2001-2002 and with an intake capacity of 100 seats this programme aims at producing trained human resource to teach at secondary and higher secondary levels. The 50 seat Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) course prepare teachers specialising in Primary and upper primary section. Both programmes take two years to deliver the theoretical knowledge as well as the training which is needed by the teachers.

Admissions for both the B.ED and D.EL.ED programmes is given to the candidates according to their merit.
