Located in the cultural capital of Odisha and well positioned at Bhubaneswar, The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology or CIPET is well known for offering specialized technical education. This institute was established in 1986 as a premier institute for aspiring talent in the fields of petrochemicals and polymer technology for almost four decades.

Designed over 5 acres of land, CIPET Bhubaneswar is the country’s premier undergraduate and post graduate engineering establishments focusing on establishing a progressive and innovative learning environment to meet the emerging challenges of the petrochemical and upstream industries. Currently the institute offers 5 courses across 6 degree programs in the field of plastics engineering, polymer nanotechnology and manufacturing engineering. The current student population is 503 students, which are mentored by 29 committed teachers – the members of the academic community, actively working on the advanced investigation of polymer science and technology.
