College of Dairy Science and Technology Idukki: established in 2017 is a constituent college Committe to the advancement of dairy education in Kerala. Sree Sasthyan Boys & Co-Ed, College Kolahalamedu is a co-educational institution which offers specialization in Dairy Technology. Although the college is young, it plays a remarkably important role in educating students in dairy science. It has been accredited to offer a B.Tech programme in Dairy Technology, which corroborates its squarely policy in giving high quality, specialised education to meet the needs of the dairy industries.

College of Dairy Science and Technology, Idukki is affiliated with the college Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Wayanad. College of Dairy Science and Technology is well equipped with all modem facilities that help the students in their colleges. This library is a source of books, journals and other information materials on dairy science and technology in the institution. Hence, fully stocked labs enable students to practice what they learn in the class and offer the best approximation to real life situations. The college also enshrines very good IT facilities, and equipment that makes students to access and use current technologies and software used in the dialing operation of the companies in the diary industry. These facilities in aggregates make Student Learning and Generation of New Knowledge and Ideas in dairy science possible.

In terms of academic offerings, the College of Dairy Science and Technology, Idukki, currently provides one full-time course: B.Tech in Dairy Technology. This course is very strict and takes four years for completion, with the goal of nurturing students with lots of knowledge and expertise in dairy processing, quality assurance and management.  It is not stated the number of graduates produced, but since they have a small admission capacity it may point to the quality education delivery system may produce quality professionals.

Thus, the Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical (KEAM) examination is taken to admit students in the B.Tech Dairy Technology program in the College of Dairy Science and Technology, Idukki. This entrance test is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination (CEE), Government of Kerala. This standardized test has to be passed with acceptable results to merit admission to the program among a large number of interested students. This examination generally occurs every year, normally the CEE releases the schedule of KEAM examination.
