Gayatri Vidya Parishad College for Degree and PG Courses School of Engineering, Visakhapatnam, more popularly known as GVPCDPGC, was established in the year 1989. The co-educational affiliate college is spread in 8.5 acres in Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam. It boasts as many as 22 courses based on 9 degree programmes, with a total student strength of 4,503 students. The institute has 130 strength teaching faculty who are always ready to serve their students and provide a very good student-to-teacher ratio. Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the GVPCDPGC has quite succeeded in making a name for it in the field of technical education in Andhra Pradesh.

The college boasts of its state-of-the-art infrastructure and comprehensive facilities. Its library has been fully developed through the acquisition of over 50,000 volumes. Web access is through the UGC INFLIBNET and also the AICTE-INDEST with firm assurance for the assurance of over 5,000 e-journals. The institute has well-equipped laboratories in all branches for the aspiring engineers, having the latest machinery and tools per the syllabus. As far as student welfare is concerned, Each programme has residential arrangements. The boys' hostel is found 2.5 km from the campus, and it can house 102 boys in well-appointed rooms, study space, TV, and internet connectivity.

Admissions in GVPCDPGC are made on a merit and transparent basis. Applicants are required to qualify for AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test) conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for B.Tech courses. The admissions are once again strictly made on merit score in this entrance examination, following the reservation rules for the various categories. Postgraduate admissions, such as MBA and MCA, are conducted through APICET. The college also takes in GATE scores for M.Tech admissions, thus ensuring a high standard of incoming students.
