Golaghat Commerce College, established in 1972, is one of the prime institutions of this area located at Jyoti Nagar, Golaghat, Assam. This affiliated college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with medication in different undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college is situated on a lush 10-acre campus with a total student enrolment of 1,280, and a faculty strength of 57. Established more than five decades ago, Golaghat Commerce College has now grown into one of the leading centres of higher learning in the said region, with its 13 courses in six degree programmes highlighting the arts and commerce stream.

Golaghat Commerce College library, fondly called 'Chinta-Taranga Chora', is well endowed with textbooks, reference books, and periodicals and stands out as the nerve centre of research and studies. Besides, the college has well-equipped laboratories in all the departments of Computer Science, Education, Geography, and Languages. Also, the auditorium will be named after Prof. Rana Tamuly, the former Vice-Principal and the famous Assamese film comedian. Here, various cultural and academic events can be organised and held.

The undergraduate levels offer major options in the institution's BA and B.Com degrees in the disciplines of English, Assamese, Economics, Education, History, Political Science, and Geography. At the postgraduate level, the college offers M.Com with specialisations in Finance and Marketing.
