Government College, Sanawad was set up in the year of 1984, at Sanawad, District – Madhya Pradesh It is one of the famed colleges in the region. This affiliated college which is located centrally to the state has had an impact on the colleges academic map for close to forty years. The college has a strengths of 10 faculty members and enrolments of 1192 students offering 8 courses under five different degree programmes. The aim and mission of the institution is to provide quality education in different fields of Arts, Commerce and Science to cater the need of education in the region.

Government College, Sanawad possesses number of facilities that acts as additional tools to facilitate the learning process of students. The students are endowed with quality education facilities and among them is the college library notorious for holding more than a fourteen thousand seven hundred and fifty books to feed the students’ need for knowledge. The institution also has a very good information technology facility, which enables the students to cope with the current development in the technology. Those that are departmental provide interactive room for learning especially to students in the sciences. To maintain a comprehensive growth of the college students, it offers sports facilities and an auditorium to support cultural activities, seminars among others. This is an Affiliated College of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore.

The programmes offered at Government College; Sanawad include almost all the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The institution offers six full time courses, and two postgraduate courses meant to address various academic needs of the students. Overall approved intake of the college across the various courses is 510 seats, and thus sufficient chances are provided for deserving students. Some of the programmes offered are acquainted ones like the BA, B.Com, B.Sc in differing fields, M.Com and MSW showing that the Management of the institution does not skimp when it comes to offering their students quality education.
