Government Degree College Kargil is an emerging college in the region situated at Khomeini, Kargil, Jammu and Kashmir, Ferozepur. This affiliated college was started in 1995 and has been providing education to this area for more than two decades. Located in a large compound of seven point seven acres, GDC Kargil provides a proper learning environment to the students. GDC Kargil offers four graduation programs, split between three different degrees to suit various fields of study. Ecstaticantly, this college has been accredited by the National Assessment and the Accreditation Council commonly known as NAAC indicating our desire to deliver quality education.

We at GDC Kargil are proud to be able to provide the following facilities to improve students’ experience. It has adequate and well equipped practical session places especially for those studying science related courses in college. A library with course materials is a significant asset of education as it gives student access to a number of sources. For the exercise freaks, the college has provided provisions for games and even has a gym. The facilities in the campus include c modern IT features to enable students stay connected in the current world being a digital one. A cafeteria is a place where students go to eat and also interact with their fellow students between lessons. There is also health center to cater for students needs in case of any injuries with first aid equipment to support this.

GDC Kargil offers a good number of academic programs, in total four full time undergraduate courses are available. These include; Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Medical and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Non Medical. All of them give a broad, liberal education in the chosen specialisation to ensure the continuance of study further, or beginning an employment. The college has the student enrolment capacity of 1,376 that make it a prominent institution in higher education in the Kargil area.

Government Degree College, Kargil has a very simple procedure for admission to the college. It is probably useful to think of academic performance in qualifying examinations as one of the major channels for student selection in the college. Since GDC Kargil is a government institution it may also follow reservation policies as per government policies as and when prescribed.
