The institute is located in a small area of land measuring 5 acres and its main mission is to offer the best technical training to its students with an intention of producing engineers. The polytechnic has a strength of 5 faculty members and at the moment, the institution offers only three diploma courses, all of which are full-time programmes. From the courses offered and infrastructure displayed, there is evidence that it is a technical institute offering technical education.
Government Polytechnic Roorkee Baheri is endowed with central facilities necessary to improve the academic needs of the students. The existing courses include Diploma in Computer Science Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Production Engineering, and Diploma in Textile Technology. All these programmes have been given an approved admission capacity of 60 students per session which the institute considered ideal class size for teaching and learning.
