Government Sanskrit College Samdong was established in 1997 it is an affiliated college in the region of East Sikkim in India. This institution required for the study of Sanskrit and related subjects is indeed accredited by NAAC – National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The college is located within a small plot of 9.16 acres and therefore allows the enrolment of its 57 students to benefit from a concentrated teaching atmosphere. This has been complicated by the size of its faculty of 21 members: this has however been balanced through the student-intensity approach by offering pin-pointed attention to each student. 

The college has many spacious modern facilities- infrastructure that can help make the learning process better for the learners. For the learners who need to be housed the college features both boys’ and girls’ hostels to enable them comfortable living within the compound to facilitate learning. The institution also has departmental laboratories to cater for the practical part of the programs offered by the institution. Moreover, there are sports facilities in the campus, which enhance the health of the students and students have facilities to make them engage in sporting activities other than what they learn in classroom.

Government Sanskrit College, Samdong offers two full-time courses: a 3-year BA programme and 2-year MA in Sanskrit. These programs are established for giving advanced learning the Sanskrit language, literature and other cultural studies.
