Government Science College was established in 2007 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This affiliated college, set on a 3.5-acre campus, offers a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of science and technology. Its student body, consisting of 443 students, and the faculty of 24 help maintain a very intimate learning environment that promotes academic growth and innovation.

The facilities provided by the college are very impressive. The library has over 1,200 international-class book collections in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, and many more; the list continues with e-books, multimedia resources, and subscriptions to a lot of highly prestigious scientific journals. The college has a small gym, well-equipped, which functions during the college hours for those interested in physical fitness. Government Science College, Ahmedabad runs a total of six courses, comprising four undergraduate and two at the postgraduate level. Undergraduate courses include B.Sc. in Biotechnology, Environmental Science, and Health and Hygiene with 120 intake capacity each and BCA with 60 seats. At the postgraduate level, there are M.Sc. courses in Biotechnology with 60 seats and Environmental Science with 40. All courses are full-time. The college attracts students from different backgrounds, such as about 10% of undergraduate and 7% of graduate students who come from out of state. This helps in infusing a rich, multicultural learning atmosphere inside the college.
