Holy Cross College of Nursing, Ambikapur, was established in 2003 and happens to be one of the foremost institutions imparting nursing education in the Surguja district of Chhattisgarh. This affiliated college is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council, and programs are offered in various nursing courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A total of 226 students and faculty strength of 13 students constitutes the Holy Cross College of Nursing, which operates under a vast 17-acre campus. In all, there are six different courses in two degree programs under which the institution provides nursing education and practice in their different dimensions. The institution has all the modern facilities that help in the growth of their students both academically and personally.

The campus has a girls' hostel, which provides comfortable lodging to the students coming from other parts of the region. Holy Cross College of Nursing offers a wide scope of nursing programs. Two programs in the undergraduate division are under the college, namely: B. Sc. Nursing, a four-year duration with 50 seats, and Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing, running for two years with 25 seats. On the other hand, it has four programmes under the post graduate division: Medical Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, Child Health Nursing, and Community Health Nursing, all taking two years with 5 seats for each. All the programmes are full time and provide in-depth knowledge as well as skills in many of the nursing fields. In totality, an intake of all courses at 95 students for one academic year is manageable with personal attention and quality education.

The central admission committee makes the decision regarding the admissions to B.Sc Nursing courses.
