Shri jagadguru shankaracharya college of nursing Raipur was set up in the year 2012.This is one of the top most colleges in Chhattisgarh in the filed of nursing education. Kasturba Gandhi College of Nursing, is a co-educational college offered in Sejbahar, Mujgahan, Raipur which is an affiliated college accredited by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). From these, the college admits a total of 195 students to diploma and certificate courses in nursing that aim at producing healthcare practitioners to meet a high demand. From the following observations, it can be apparent that the institute has the quality facilities and course structure as its strength. 

It also prides in a number of equipments to facilitate learning and growth of the college’s students. Clinical facilities at Rama Krishna hospital are very useful for practical training, the hospital has total bed of 150 and different specialisations. Facilities for detailed practical of subjects like Nursing Arts, Anatomy, Physiology etc are very well provisioned. The college library is a rich storehouse of information, which contains an online database of international as well as Indian journals, magazines and reference documents. The institute has also provided deemed transport amenities for students with a strength of 18 Buses to and from all parts of the city including Bhilai. 

Jagadguru Shankaracharya College of Nursing offers six courses: B.Sc Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) also are the primary nursing education in India. Every year both programmes admit 40 students in total, or 80 students in total, for these two programmes. The B.Sc Nursing is a Course of four years for a Graduate programme where a candidate is exposed to different fields of nursing. The GNM programme however is a three years diploma course whereby learners are trained on basic nursing competencies. These are general courses that are intended to give competent, caring and skilled graduate nurses to satisfy the health care system.
