Mahaveer College of Ayurvedic Science is situated in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, being one of the oldest and foremost educational establishments for Ayurveda. The affiliated college started in 2015 and has made a reputation in the field of traditional Indian medicine. Covering an area of 11.478 acres, the college is recognized by the Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM); ); thus, students acquire knowledge in Ayurveda. Mahaveer College in fact has an enrolment capacity of hundred and twenty students in each batch, and it has fifteen faculty members, which collectively proved that the college provides personalised education to its students in the field of Ayurveda. 

The college has access to many resources to fulfil its purpose of education, as shown below. The huge library is 7000 sq. ft. It has an inventory of 10,070 books on Ayurveda and other subjects and 25 international and 18 national journals. Students can on this site get many things, such as audiovisual aids and CDs that relate to different medical issues. The campus comprises a boys’ hostel and a girls’ hostel, each with the capacity of 100 students and well-furnished rooms. There is a vegetarian mess and canteen to feed the college community, and this current academic year a spacious mess building has been erected with an ultra-modern kitchen to feed students and staff separately at different dining halls. 

Mahaveer College of Ayurvedic Science is providing only one course, which is Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). This is a full-time programme; this programme takes six years and has an approved capacity of 60 students. The BAMS course is aimed at supporting the student with a comprehensive training programme covering the core concepts of Ayurvedic medicine as well as offering students the training they need to be successful in their chosen profession. The students are admitted to the BAMS programme based on the centralised National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) for this course and others, so only eligible candidates are admitted to study this particular course. 

Admission to Mahaveer College of Ayurvedic Science is quite easy. Candidates should clear the NEET aptitude test to be eligible for admissions to medical courses in the country. The college follows the timetable set by the regulatory authority when it comes to admission, as usually the admission process will take place in the months following the NEET test results.
