MIMIT Malout, or Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology, was set up in 1998 as an affiliated college that is situated in Malout in Punjab. The facility operates under the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education and has BA & B.Com, BCA, B.Sc (IT), M.Sc (IT), MBA, MCA, and M.Tech programmes for operations. Located on a campus area of 25 acres, MIMIT Malout has the total strength of 942 students and 17 faculty members. It offers 11 courses spread over 8 degree programmes with a focus on sections like engineering, management, computer applications and commerce. MIMIT Malout is a college that aims at delivering quality education so that the students can adapt themselves to different professional courses.

MIMIT Malout provides various types and kinds of facilities to improve the learning and personality development of the students. The institute contains enough laboratory facilities as practical and research settings for students. The Central Computer Centre, with the facility of central A/C and having almost 500 latest configured computer systems, serves as a computing resource for the students. Located in a favourable environment and housing almost all the standard and advanced learning resources, the college’s library is the best place for learning. For sports enthusiasts, the campus provides designs such as badminton courts, basketball, volleyball, and a football pitch. The institute also provides different facilities for students’ healthy lives, such as a health centre and a well-furnished gym to fulfil all first aid facilities.

The institute has eleven courses, including full-time courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include B.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, and Mechanical Engineering. The undergraduate level courses in this institute are BBA, BCA, B.Com (Hons), B.Sc (Non Medical). In particular, MIMIT Malout offers MBA and a Master of Science in Information Technology for postgraduate courses. In addition, the institute has a Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. The cumulative total approved student intake for all the courses is 942, which depicts that the institute has the ability to enrol a large number of potential students .

The admission process for each programme offered at MIMIT Malout is slightly different. For B.Tech programmes, seats are filled according to the rank obtained in the CBSE, New Delhi, conducted Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). Both the physical criteria of an 85% quota for Punjab residents and a 15% quota for any other state or territory apply here. MBA admissions involve a requirement of a valid rank in the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT). These national-level admission tests are accepted at the institute, as the process ensures fairness within the norms of the country.
