The Modern Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) was established on 2010, and it has been associated with AICTE. It provides engineering degrees. It is based on a 10.41-acre campus, with an enrolment of 1,166 students in total and a faculty strength of 89. The institute offers 7 courses across 2 degree levels, with strong specializations and Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, and Civil Engineering.

The set of facilities available at Modern Institute of Engineering and Technology are quite exhaustive, supporting the development and learning of its students. Laboratories in each department are well equipped to provide practical experience to the students. A library in a spacious area is there to support both the B.Tech and Diploma programs, which is filled with over 21,000 books and has a 100-seater reading room. Hostel facilities are provided for boys and girls, respectively, to a maximum of 120 students, with a provision to expand that to 200 at the boys' hostel and 22 at the girls. Both hostels are well equipped with modern amenities, including Wi-Fi and hot water. For recreation, there are full-length football grounds, indoor games facilities, a gym, and a health centre with first aid. There is an auditorium for events and seminars, and learning necessities are supported by IT infrastructure.

The institute conducts 7 courses in all: 5 B.Tech programs and 2 Diploma programs. All of them are full-time courses; B.Tech courses run for 4 years while the Diploma programs run for 3 years. 

 Admissions are made primarily on the recommendations of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board. Intakes to the B Tech courses are done through JEE Main, WBJEE, and JELET for the lateral entry. Intakes to the Diploma courses are done through JEXPO. The management quota is available to all the diploma programs for 25% of the approved intake, with a minimum of scoring 35% aggregate (English, Physical Science, and Mathematics), 45% in Physics and Mathematics combined, or securing any valid JEXPO rank.
