Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences, Manipal, was founded in 1940 and is ranked amongst the premier applied Ayurvedic colleges. This affiliated college is situated in Manipal, Karnataka, in the nucleus of an educational city and has been recognised by the Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM). Located on 56 acres of land, the institute is teaching 9 courses across four degrees, which are connected to the concept of Ayurvedic medicine in different ways. Currently and as progressing enrolment of 370 students and 60 talented teachers, the institute is sensitive to learning and growing in the field of medicinal systems.

Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences provides a large list of contemporary facilities to promote its educational objectives. Being an essential part of the learning environment, the library has more than 12,000 books on Ayurveda, modern medical science, and related fields. It also has such manuscripts as rare access, and it avails the digital library via Helinet. According to this, the college has functional departmental laboratories for those learners who prefer practical sessions. For the hostels, there are separate hostels for boys and girls; these can house 60 boys and 150 girls. 

An operating health centre with first aid structures is also necessary to effectively critically deal with student’s health issues. The institute also invites participation in other co-curricular activities facilitated by different indoor and outdoor sporting activities such as cricket, volleyball, tennis, and others such as table tennis. An auditorium is used for occasions and lectures, and a canteen provides meals for consumption by students and employees.

Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences provides amenity of all courses in Ayurvedic medicine. The institute offers 9 full-time courses comprising bachelors, masters, and doctorate courses. The most popular programme that is, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), has an approved sanctioned intake capacity of 100 students.
