Purulia Polytechnic stands established on 1957 located at application Vivekananda Nagar, Purulia, West Bengal. It is one of the important technical affiliated colleges, with AICTE approval. It has been developing technical talent for over six decades. The 35-acre, sprawling campus of Purulia Polytechnic runs diploma programs in various engineering disciplines. It provides the pedagogic climate for technical education and skill development of the student with a total enrolment of 1,024 students and a faculty strength of 28.

This institute is proud of having various facilities to aid in developing the student in both aspects, i.e., academically and personally. A well-stocked library supports the school's academics adequately, while modern, fully-fledged laboratories ensure practical learning needs in different departments. Hostel facilities are available on the campus for both boys and girls, ensuring their comfort with the campus facility. The courses are in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Metallurgical Engineering. 

There is an intake of students through two channels: the Joint Entrance Examination for admission in the first year— JEXPO, and the Lateral Entry—a direct admission in the second year of Diploma courses through VOCLET.
