School of Technology and Applied Sciences (STAS) was set up in 1993 as a constituent college of the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam, Kerala. This reputed institution has established a strong foothold in providing technology and applied sciences education. Located in Pullarikkunnu Campus, STAS Kottayam has been providing undergraduate and postgraduate courses to suit the active aspects of the technical field. Considering the fact that the faculty presently consists of 8 members, staffing at the AICTE-level institute provides students with efficient and focused teaching sessions.
STAS Kottayam also has many infrastructural facilities to support its students’ learning process. For the convenience of the students, STAS Kottayam also has an auditorium to accommodate large functions and events. The college provides a great deal in terms of information technology, which comprises unlimited internet connection from broadband networks. This implies that the students are always connected and have a chance to work with resources.
The courses that are offered in STAS Kottayam are wide-ranging and job-orientated, with a total offering 5 courses spread over 4 career programmes. At present, the institute offers a number of full-time undergraduate courses, among them BCA with 60 intakes spread over four years, B.Sc. Computer Science with 40 intakes spread over four years and B.Sc. Cyber Forensic which has an intake of 38 with the same duration. For postgraduate studies, this private college offers thirty seats for Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and twenty for M.Sc in Cyber Forensics.

The admission procedure at this college is as follows, and it is very standard and impartial. The colleges offer under graduate programme such as BCA , B.SC Computer Science and B.SC Cyber Forensic where 50% of seats will be filled through CAP and remaining 50% of the seats will be filled according to rank list prepared by CPAS. Admissions to the MCA programme are made only on the basis of the rank secured by the candidate in a common entrance test taken through the Computerised Admission System (CPAS) known as the Common Rank List.

College infrastructure is good. Library is my favorite place to be in the institution. Its a very calm and peaceful place to be in, I work on my projects, codings and everthing over there without any disturbance.
