This premier women's educational institution, Shri MD Shah Mahila College of Arts and Commerce, was founded in the year 1968 and is located in Malad West, Mumbai. This NAAC-accredited college offers a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate courses as an affiliated institution. The college occupies a 1-acre campus with 2,771 students enrolled and a faculty strength of 35. It has specialised in arts and commerce disciplines, and offers 20 courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, leading to 6 different degrees. 

Shri MD Shah Mahila College of Arts and Commerce, Mumbai, is affiliated with the Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey (SNDT) Women’s University, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Shri MD Shah Mahila College of Arts and Commerce is supported by every possible amenity, each serving to enrich the learning environment of students. The library is considered to be one of the most vital centres of learning and has a well-stacked collection of 50,000 books of all types with medium in Gujarati, English, Marathi, and Hindi, supplemented by digital resources in the form of CD-ROMs and internet-enabled computers for research purposes. The institution has a first-aid facility and a gym for the health and wellness of the students.
