Sri Sankara Arts and Science College is a self-financing, co-educational institution that was founded in 1991 in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, and is affiliated with Chennai University and is also an autonomous institution. Situated on the 14-acre land, the college is NAAC accredited and AICTE recognised. Despite a student population force of 5004 and a teaching force of 132, SSASC provides 22 courses under nine programmes. Over the years, gender distribution at the institute was almost equal, with 55% being male students, while the remaining 45% were female students, and 54% of postgraduate students were female.

MBA, BBA, BA in English & Tamil, B.Com, B.Sc in all science groups and Master of Science in computer science, mathematics and physics. The MBA programme, one of the flagship courses of the university, has an approved intake capacity for sixty students. This college has a total student enrolment of 5004 in all programmes, and many students are graduating annually.
