Sri Venkateswaraa College of Technology (SVCT) is an affiliated college that started its journey in the academic year 2010-11 and the college is located in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. Located on its 10.05-acre campus, SVCT provides a range of courses in the engineering discipline at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The institute is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and certified by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). SVCT enrol a total student of 536 with a teaching faculty of 82 professors hence, the institute enjoys a good student-to-faculty ratio of 6.5:1. The college has 14 courses total with two degree levels.

SVCT has assembled various contemporary infrastructures for its academic programmes and students’ activities. There are functional and well-stocked laboratory facilities to support practical for the various engineering disciplines offered on campus. The college library acts as an information centre and holds over 15,883 volumes and 4,119 working titles covering most areas of science and engineering technology. To meet the technological requirements of the students, the whole campus, including the hostels, is wired with Wi-Fi for the purpose of academic and research requirements.

SVCT recognises the task of offering a balanced collegiate education. The college provides accommodation separately for boys and girls; the total capacity of hostels is 500 students. They have a clinic on campus affiliated with Jaya Multispecialty Hospital therefore, for health checks and other emergencies students have to visit this facility. For students’ physical health, the college offers an opportunity to use sports and a gym. At SVCT, the Training and Placement Cell is actively working towards improving the students’ employability through multiple endeavours, employment readiness training, and virtual interactive sessions such as the Employability Bootcamp.

The college has a total intake of 14 courses, which are spread over 9 BE courses and 2 ME courses. All courses are full-time, regular programmes meant to be completed within a contiguous period of study. The sanctioned intake for the institute is 516 and it is distributed to all the courses offered in the institute. Twelve undergraduate programmes are offered out of which BE Computer Science and Engineering has the highest intake of 90 students and BE Electronics and Communication Engineering, BE Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, BE Cyber Security, BE Advanced Communication Technology, and BE VLSI Design and Technology are offered with 60 intakes each. The postgraduate programmes, Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering and Master of Engineering in Communication Systems, offer 18 seats each.

Further, the admission process of SVCT is mainly affiliated with the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission (CEETA-PG) for the postgraduate students. As for the undergraduate admission, the college adheres to common guidelines based on the student’s performance on the relevant entrance test and previous academic performance.
