Subarnarekha Mahavidyalaya, established in 1988, is an affiliated college situated in Gopiballavpur-I block, Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal. It stands on a compact 0.97-acre campus and runs a wide range of undergraduate programs. There are 1,691 students in all at this college. This college offers a very good balance in the sex ratio, with 56 percent of its students being females and the rest 44 percent males. The institution has 15 dedicated teachers to guide students for 11 courses for 6 degree programmes. Specialisations are offered in Bengali, English, History, Sanskrit, Santali, Geography, Anthropology, and Accountancy.

Subarnarekha Mahavidyalaya, strives to promote a good learning atmosphere among students. It has a well-stocked library, allowing two books at a time for a fortnight to help develop and cultivate reading and research habits. Departmental laboratories in the college also assist in practical experience working, particularly for students in the science stream.
