Suraj Singh Memorial College, Ranchi or SSMC was started in 1972. This is one of constituent college of the Ranchi University, situated in Kanke Road, Ranchi, Jharkhand state, India and functioning from last more than 51 years. The college is an NAAC accredited college, which emphasises the quality of college education. SSMC provides 28 courses of 7 degree programmes with the enrolment of 7263 students in total. The college has tenacity of 25 dedicated teachers for attending individual students and providing better teaching faculties of Arts, Commerce, and Science.

SSMC boasts of its facilities which it provides to boost the learning ability of its students. The college boasts of a chaplain, a clinic, a well stocked library which gave the students lots of literature to read. SSMC has kept departmental laboratories effective for the practice inculcating laboratory knowledge for students.
