The Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship, Kolkata was established in the year 1893. It has a compact 1.5-acre campus with an enrolment of 446 students, with a strength of 10 faculty members. Undergraduate courses comprise specialized Bachelor of Fine Arts in various sub-disciplines of Visual Arts.

The Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship is pledged to provide a responsive environment for artistic growth and learning. The working hours for students are provided with an important resource-the valuable reference books and journals pertaining to Art housed in the College Library. The institution also endows itself with excellent IT infrastructure to grant the students access to relevant modern tools and technologies in their fields of study. Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship has focused and specialized academic programs in the form of four full-time BFA programs, namely BFA in Graphic Art, BFA in Sculpture, BFA in Applied Art, and BFA in Painting with honors. Each course is spread over four years, in which students are provided with theoretical as well as practical knowledge in their respective art fields.

It also said that the admission of Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship is based on practical and written examination where the students are to carry their materials for portraying the skill in art. Then, the students would be taken for a viva-voce test for final selection
