Established the year 2016, Usha Rani College of Education is a co-educational institute in Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. This affiliated college, recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), only focuses on teacher education. Located on a less than 1-acre piece of land, the college has only two full-time courses admitting 100 students in total. At present, Usha Rani College of Education has 24 faculty members, which makes it very effective in providing a special emphasis on student-teacher ratio to each of the students interested in becoming educators.

Both programmes are courses that take two years to complete and are offered as full programmes. Student intake in the college is moderate; 50 students are offered each course in every academic year, and therefore, the total number of intakes is 100 for both courses. This concentrated approach allows the institution to uphold the quality of education and accord each learner the much-needed attention before graduating to assume the relevant responsibilities as teachers.

The admission at Usha Rani College of Education is based on the merit performance of marks in the qualifying examination and or entrance examination. For the B.Ed programme, the admission process is followed as per the norms of the state government, UT administration and the university from which the B.Ed programme is affiliated. Likewise, the D.El.Ed programme has admission norms laid down by the state government or UT administration.
