Admission to a programme of study in the University shall be made on the basis of written objective type Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) by the Admission Committee of the Department concerned with the approval of the Dean Academic Affairs.

Admission will be based on merit of the candidate in the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Department.

A Candidate must have passed or appeared in the final year of Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science Examination with 50% of the aggregate marks 45 % in case of SC/ST Candidate.

• Bachelor of Library and Information Science with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate, and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate in Bachelor's /Master's degree in any other subject. 
• Any other examination recognized equivalent thereto.
