Physiology is study of functions and mechanisms of living organisms. It investigates how organisms, organs, cells and bio-molecules carry out their chemical and physical functions. Human physiology, a specific branch of physiology, studies how our cells muscles and organs work together and interact. Physiologists use this knowledge to study the methods for treating diseases and coping with the stresses our bodies are exposed to in different environments.
To become a physiologist, one has to study very hard. One has to firstly choose medical stream in 12th grade, i.e. one needs Biology as one of the core subjects.
At the undergraduate level, one can either pursue a B.Sc honours in Physiology or B/Sc Honours in Life Sciences. This degree is mostly for 3 years and is provided by many colleges across the country. After one is done with B.sc, one opts for masters.
At the graduate level, One can either pursue M.Sc in Physiology or M.Sc in life Sciences. This degree is generally for 2 years. This degree further enhances your qualification.
If you are sure about your interest, then you can opt for the degree specializing in physiology but if you want to keep your options open then you can focus upon the life sciences degree.
If you want to further study then you can opt for Ph.D in Physiology.

The job growth of physiology is not very high but it is stable. The profession in itself is a hectic one.
Professionals might have to work at odd hours. There may be a requirement to attain additional certifications. The educational path is long, with several years of training required.
There are many advantages of this career as well. Professionals in this field have an opportunity to aid individuals in their recovery from injury, and help them improve their overall health. Professionals have flexibility in terms of their work-setting, as they can work in hospitals, athletic teams, fitness centres, corporations, laboratories, etc.
