72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biosystems Engineering is six years program offered at Plaksha University, Mohali.
Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates with any one of the following qualifications in the concerned discipline are eligible to apply for admission to the PhD program at Plaksha:
- 1-year/2-semester masters degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade after a 4-year/8-semester bachelors degree program
- 2-year/4-semester masters degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade after a 3-year bachelors degree
- 4-year/8-semester bachelors degree program with at least 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade
- MPhil degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade
- Qualifications declared equivalent to the masters degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade
- An equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution
Admission Details
Preference will be given to those applicants who have qualified in at least one of the exams: CSIR NET-JRF/DBT-JRF/UGC NET-JRF/GATE/IIT-JAM/GRE etc. Such shortlisted candidates will be exempted from the written test for the admission to PhD program, and will be considered eligible directly for the interview. For other shortlisted candidates, a written test based on NET/GATE syllabus of the concerned discipline, will be conducted to shortlist for the interview.
