Abasaheb Kakade College of Education, Shevgaon, is one of the famous institutions which provides teacher training education and was established in the year 2007 and situated in Shevgaon, Nashik, Maharashtra. The college is located in Sant Gadge Baba Chowk, Pathardi Road, Shevgaon and the college has an area of 1.5 acres of land. This co-educational institute is recognised as per regulation 4 years of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and imparts three fulltime courses in education. The college had a student intake of 141 and a faculty of 25 with a good ratio of student: teachers. It offers professional training in Bachelor of Education, (B.Ed), Diploma in Education (D.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)  for educators at different levels.

Abasaheb Kakade College of Education has many facilities that are intended to improve the learning processes among the students. A any library has a stock of more than 7560 books, 344 teaching aids and 20 educational journals and e-Granthalaya services. The science laboratory empowers the student-teachers by encouraging them to practice more scientific experience. Maharashtra’s female students can avail the girls’ hostel containing basic facilities and medical facilities. The college also has a large playground where different sports events can be conducted and the college has separate sections for football, kabaddi and kho-kho. Also for the convenience of its guests the campus has a canteen, guest rooms, and computer rooms and other necessary equipment for the modern educational process.

There are three courses offered by the institute and one diploma course in the filed of education. The number of approved intakes for B.Ed and D.Ed programmes is 100 seat each. These courses are meant to enable students to pursue teaching and educational management courses and training to enable them perform well in their chosen field of practice.

Admission in Abasaheb Kakade College of Education is done through merit criterion which includes the total marks obtain by the candidate in the qualifying examination as well as entrance examination, if any. The college is affiliated with the state government of Maharashtra and the university to which it is affiliated to, and follows the admission policies made by both. For the B.Ed programme Admission is given on merit in qualification or through selection test in accordance with the rule and regulation of state government and university. Likewise, in case of admission to D.El.Ed programme, merit criteria are followed and the marks obtained in the qualifying examination or the entrance test as per policies of the state govt or UT administration.
