AGM Ayurveda Medical College Hospital situated at Jamkhandi started in 2020 is a fledging college of Karnataka, India focusing on Ayurvedic education. This affiliated college is at Jamkhandi, Bagalkot district and conducts a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course. Currently it is still expanding but the institute has 11 core faculty members which clearly shows their aim is to impart excellent education in the subject of Ayurveda. Being a co-educational school, it encourages students from all walks of life and makes learning more diverse.

Some of the amenities available in the AGM Ayurveda Medical College Hospital to facilitate student’s learning include; A typical structural design and establishment of a well endowed library is central to dissemination of knowledge considered pertinent for Ayurvedic literature. The institution contains departmental laboratories which allow students practical exposure important in medical field. To meet the needs of students with disabilities they will be offered accommodation in different hostels for boys and girls respectively. There is also a gym, designed to uphold physical health of the students, and an auditorium for meetings, conferences and other events. AGM Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital at present only has one flagship programme – the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). This is a full time programme and takes six years to complete and gives the necessary training in Ayurvedic medicines. The fields offered in the BAMS programme are intended to provide students with adequate theoretical and practical training in Ayurvedic medicine, and ensure their future professional competence in this form of ancient practice.

The policies of admission to the AGM Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital follow standard general guidelines for medical facilities in India as well. BAMS entrance examination: The candidate who wants to take admission in this course has to qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). This is one of the fascinating national level tests defining preparation in the process of selection relevant to adequate academic standards of medical education.
