AS Patil College of Commerce, Vijayapur, started in 1961, is one of the recognised institute for higher education situated in the state of Karnataka, India. Run and recognized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), this affiliated college provides many courses in commerce and management. Located in an 11 acre area, the college had a total strength of 1315 students and 26 members on faculty. It offers six degree programmes and comprises undergraduate and postgraduate courses in commerce, business administration, and computer applications. The college has 55 % males and 45 % female students and having AICTE approval, majority of students of college are from local region as 99% of total students studying in the college belong to the state.

The college holds goal of creating an all round learning institution with adequate facility that enhances and develops the students. Housed and strategically located as the students’ archive, it supports reading as well as research activities among the learners. For physical development in the college it provides sports facilities with professional trainers in volley ball, basket ball, football, ice hockey, and cricket. The campus includes modern information technology equipment for learning to assist students in the use of modern technology. Other facilities are the canteen, banquet hall that will be used for holding events and seminars respectively, and the transport fraternity for students and staffs. It also has a good alumni connection, besides, no college can afford to work without having internet for free it supplies, and it has its parking space too. Additional facilities that are added comprise language and commerce labs among others. In terms of students’ personal services there are a health center including first aid facilities, and free health check on students, a gym for the sporting students. The institutions have hostels for both male and female students, so that they can feel at home even as they open their books.

There are six courses offered in AS Patil College of Commerce done at a full time programme. The undergraduate programmes that the university offers hence include B.Com which is a three year programme, BBA which is also a three year programme, and BCA which also takes three years to complete. At post graduate level, college offers M.Com and MBA, both are of two year duration. Also, there is one-year PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications) course. The college enrols a total of 1,315 students in all the programmes offered within the college.
