Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh is one of the premier and oldest medical institutes of the north east region of India. Establishment of Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh was done by a retired brigadier of the British army, later the civil surgeon and British philanthropist Sir John Berry White. He established Berry White Medical College in 1900, which became a fully-fledged government approved Assam Medical College in 1947.

Assam Medical college offers courses on diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes. Assam Medical college admissions are entrance based. Courses offered are in diploma, MBBS and MD/MS. For Assam Medical College UG courses, the college offers two courses which are MBBS and B.pharma. Assam Medical college PG courses include as many as 14 MD courses and 6 MS courses. Students must clear NEET-UG for MBBS admissions and NEET-PG for postgraduate admissions. The fees of Assam Medical college UG courses is Rs.30,000 and for PG courses is Rs.31,000.

Candidates have to apply at the Directorate of Medical Education, Assam for the Assam MBBS Counselling.
As per the login credential, they have to submit all the documents needed. They also need to pay the admission fee.
They also have to do the document verification at designated centres.
Shortlisting of candidates will be done through the Assam MBBS Counselling based on NEET UG exam score.
The seat will be allotted to the candidates as per the counselling rounds.
Finally, candidates have to report to the allotted institute and complete the admission process within scheduled dates.
Assam Medical College PG and Diploma admission process: For MD/MS/Diploma:
Candidates have to appear for the NEET-PG entrance exam, conducted by National Testing Academy (NTA) and obtain a valid score.

College infrastructure is good . Smart boards ,AC are installed in classrooms. Sports facilities are good . A separate sport complex is there in campus. A lot of work is going on in campus. It will become more equipped in few years .
