Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology (BFCET) was set up in 2008 and is one of the leading engineering colleges at Bathinda, Punjab. Located on a 7.5 acre campus, BFCET has 787 students on its rolls and it offers a wide number of engineering courses. This college is showing its affiliation with the Punjab Technical University and kind of college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Under the leadership of 81 members of the faculty, BFCET is strongly establishing a learning environment in 8 courses and 2 degree programs. Its zones of specialisation are Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Electronics and Communication Engineering Civil Engineering, and more.

The growing number of facilities is an added advantage in BFCET as the following depicts. The college library has over 16000 volumes of Reference books and Text books with additional e-resources, Current Affairs magazines. It is totally automated with integrated library Operational software hence each resource is well accessed. For student accommodation, BFCET has been providing air conditioning hall and separate hall for boys and girls hostels to make the students feel like they are in their own home. The school has a fit gym with modern equip that had established to enable students gain fitness apart from the studies. Further, the college has a health centre with first aid equipment that takes care of the students’ health.

In total there are 8 course affiliated by the institute where there are 7 B.Tech courses and 1 is M.Tech course. All undergraduate programmes take four years and are full-time, and the Master of Technology programme takes two years. 

Fresh admission to BFCET is mainly through Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. These guidelines applies to both the 85% of the candidates to be recruited from the Punjab or wings/posts graduates of the Punjab and 15% from other parts of the Punjab. For postgraduate admissions, the seats are filled according to the GATE scores, and then the aggregate marks in B.Tech. The college offers admission to different branches of engineering Courses and the admission notice generally comes out in the time period of JEE Main.
