One of the best institutes for training future teachers was established in the form of a Central Women's College of Education, Lucknow, in 2004. This women-only college, situated in Sector-8, Rajni Khand, Sharda Nagar Yojna, Lucknow, is affiliated and permitted by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi. There are four specialised courses in education, out of which three are degree programmes. This institute has a strength of 9 as faculty, and it aims at providing good education in teacher training. From its varied range of programmes aiding to the different aspects of educational studies and special education, the commitment towards excellence is quite well exhibited. 

The Central Women's College of Education has a host of facilities to support the academic and personal growth of the students. The institution has a well-stocked library, which provides the student with adequate educational resources and literature. Departmental laboratories provide hands-on experiences that are quite important for practical education. The institution also prides about its excellent IT infrastructure, making sure that students have sufficient knowledge regarding modern technologies in education. There are also sports facilities that assure an over-all development by promoting physical fitness and incorporating team spirit among students. The campus also has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell, working as a facilitator for campus visits and coordinating the recruitment process, so that students may smoothly change into their professional careers. 

The college offers a total of four courses—these are all full-time courses designed to turn students into professionals for various roles in the education sector. These include the Diploma in Elementary Education [D.El.Ed.], Bachelor of Elementary Education [B.El.Ed.], Diploma in Education Special Education [D.Ed Special Education], and Bachelor of Education [B.Ed.]. The sanctioned total intake of the institute is 125 students in its D.El.Ed., B.El.Ed., and D.Ed. Special Education programmes, with 50 each for D.El.Ed. and B.El.Ed., and 25 for D.Ed. Special Education. 

Admission to Central Women's College of Education is based on merit, considering marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The policies of admission, at the college, are governed by the State Government, UT administration, and the affiliated university.  As a women's college, it provides the best possible environment for the preparation of women students to pursue teaching as a career.
