Affiliated College of Annamalai University, Palakkad, Kerala, entitled as the College of Applied Science, Ayalur was started in the year 2012. Located in the beautiful town of Ayalur, this institution seeks to provide a specialised array of undergraduate courses mainly in computer science, electronics and commerce. The students enrollment is 299 students in total and thus the college is small hence allow close interaction between the faculty and the students. It has introduced three on-campus programmes out of which three are offering full time programmes in technology, business applications suitable with the changing trend of employment.

Students at College of Annamalai University, Palakkad, have the opportunity to learn using numerous facilities which augment their academic teachings and learning process. College library is an important centre for learning which meets the informational and instructional needs of the students at all levels in their colleges. In terms of practical learning, there is practically oriented departmental laboratory where students implement the gained knowledge in practice. The college’s reception to the new order education is viewed in the good Information Technology infrastructure in the college which puts the students in homage to new developments in the area. Also, there is an auditorium in the campus providing space for activities like event of seminars, and this promotes a set active academic community.

Thus, the college provides students with a list of programmes as varied as it is short, covering most interested fields within the sphere of applied sciences. Currently, the institution provides four full-time programmes: Computer Science, Electronics and Computer Applications, and Commerce Computer Applications. . Among these the B.Sc Computer Science course is quite famous and has the sanctioned intake capacity of 60 students meaning that the college follows a policy of small batch sizes for better quality education.
