The CSI College of Nursing Karakonam was started a decade ago in the year 2002 and is one of the leading nursing college in Kerala state of southern India. A private co-educational institution that is established in Thiruvananthapuram, this College of Nursing provides students with programmes in nursing. It is an institute affiliated college spread in 42 acres of area which is approved by Indian Nursing Council (INC). This college admits 209 students in total and employs 21 faculties which proves that CSI College of Nursing focuses mainly on the education of its learners. With these two programmes, the college provides 7 courses in various specialisations in the field of nursing education.

CSI College of Nursing has accumulated numerous amenities that are intended to improve the learning process of the learners. The institution’s college library was started together with the college in 2002 and is a computerised information system using Auto Lib software. The library is one of the biggest medical college libraries that contains a vast choice of books, periodicals, and database titles. In regard to students’ residing the institution provides individual hostels for boys and girls respectively. It also uses well-equipped laboratories for practical purposes as a college for its students. For total growth, the campus amenities consist of basketball and volleyball, acreage for football, cricket, indoor games and much more. There an extensive gym for male students and there is also another for female students. The college also has an indoor auditorium for 750 people and an open air for 3000 people.

CSI College of Nursing presents a package of nursing courses offered by the institution is 7 courses. Basically, the courses offered undergo a full-time learning process, and the institute offers the under: There are four courses at the undergraduate level in this college namely B.Sc Nursing with 85 intake capacities and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with 30 intake capacities. Postgraduate courses include M.Sc programmes in Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Psychiatry Nursing and Child Health Nursing all with a fifty percent quota for four students each. 

The admission process at CSI College of Nursing is structured in such a manner that only the well – motivated and able – bodied students are admitted to its various programmes. It seems that this college operates under rules and regulation of admission of the Kerala University of Health Sciences and the Indian Nursing Council.
