The Deccan College of Medical Sciences started in the year 1984 is one of the pioneer medical college in Hyderabad, Telangana. This affiliated college is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), and the health college provides multiple medical courses. The college has a strength of 867 students in total, and 201 faculty members, which is adequate for a medical college. Currently, the institute has 25 courses in 6 degrees including medicine, surgery, bronchi, and some postgraduate courses in medicine.

To ensure the students receive a comprehensive, the college has put in place various amenities to help facilitate the student’s progress. These include separate hostel accommodation for the male and female student, adequate accommodation for the out-station students among the students amenities. At also follows that a well stocked library is the knowledge centre in any institution while well equipped laboratories enhance practical learning The college also house a health centre inclusive of first aid equipments, sport facilities, canteen and an assembly hall for activities such as converging, conducts and seminars. The college provides various medical courses, the most popular of them is MBBS course of 4 ½ years. The institute offers 150 MBBS seats with numerous postgraduate courses like MD & MS in many streams. The college also provides super-specialty courses of M.Ch Urology and Plastic Surgery and DM in Cardiology and Neurology. All programmes are offered on a full time basis, thus providing rigorous medical training once a learner joins a course. 

The guidelines on admissions on Deccan College of Medical Sciences are mostly on the national level tests. MBBS : NEET-UG is conducted for admissions into MBBS course in any central or deemed university. For admissions to MD and MS programmes NEET-PG score is taken into account, in order to fill up the postgraduate seats. The college also considers the NEET-SS for super specialty streams.
