 DEO College of Education, Hazaribagh, was established in 2008. It is an affiliated college of Jharkhand, India. The college is a co-educational institution that is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). This means that it has maintained the quality standards in teacher education. It is located on a compact campus of 0.63 acres. It offers a focused learning environment for aspiring educators. The total number of students enrolled here is 195, and the faculty strength is 13. Thus, it gives personal attention to the students.

Currently, the institute offers only one degree program in the area of teacher education. In keeping with this, the institution provides students with facilities and services to develop them into future teachers. A well-developed library serves as a source of knowledge for the students; hence, it has the largest collection of books, periodicals, and other material that are of great benefit to the students. The college is quite strong regarding technology as there is an equipped computer laboratory in compliance with NCTE norms and standards. On campus, Wi-Fi broadband facility is provided to students to make things easy for accessing online facilities. For physical fitness, a gym and indoor sports are available. The campus also includes a health centre with first aid facilities for the safety and well-being of its students. An auditorium provides a space for events and seminars, fostering a vibrant academic atmosphere. The college canteen offers a comfortable space for students and staff to relax and socialise. 

Currently, DEO College of Education offers only one full-time course: the B.Ed course. The B.Ed course is designed to equip the students with all the knowledge and skills required for successful teaching careers. Though it is offering only one degree program at present, its specialisation gives scope for intensive training and preparation in the field of education.

Admission to DEO College of Education is strictly on a merit basis as per the stated policies of the State Government, U.T. Administration, and the affiliated University. Admission is usually awarded based on the marks scored during the qualifying examination and/ or performance in an entrance examination. Other selection processes adopted by the college are available as per government and University guidelines.
