ESI Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Bangalore (ESIPGIMSR) is one of the premier medical college started in 2010. This affiliated college is situated at Rajajinagar, Bengaluru and it has the NMC approval. ESIPGIMSR lies on a 15 acres of land with 13 courses in 3 study programmes with 517 student intake. The student population of the institute is 711 students with a near equal male female ration of 327 males and 384 females. Having 159 faculty members, ESIPGIMSR continues to improve quality of education offered in all advanced medical disciplines.

Facilities given by ESI Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research are as follows: There are many facilities which are given by different institute for helping students in their academic and personal development. There is adequate hostel accommodation for students with the boys and girls have their hostels. A well stocked library functions as an information center following the guidelines of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science for health science library & Medical council of India. In the college, there are health facilities such as a medical clinic, Sports facilities , and kinds of gymnasiums. To support the learning process and ensure effective delivery of relevant knowledge the school has an efficient it support and well equipped laboratory for each department. In addition to the essential facilities, the Students are able to be provide with amenities like a cafeteria and an Auditorium for occasions like events, seminars etc.

Medical course in ESIPGIMSR includes undergraduate programme and postgraduate courses for the interested candidates. The MBBS course has a total intake capacity of 125 students, and there are other postgraduate courses like MD, and MS courses, and other medical speciality courses and which have an intake of 2 to 12 students at large. All courses are established to be full-time to provide intensive and dedicated studying in medical faculty. Some of them are Paediatrics, General Surgery, Anaesthesia, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Medicine among the total of thirteen courses offered at the institutes level.

In relation to admission criteria, it has to be noted that ESIPGIMSR selects students trough national level entrance examinations. There is NEET-UG who offers admission to the MBBS programme for the students who are seeking for admission. Admission for MD and MS courses to post graduate programmes is allowed through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduates (NEET-PG). These standardized tests provide favourabale and competitive opportunity for selection. The institute admits students from throughout the country with approx 69% students belonging to other states of India excluding Karnataka only. In the undergraduate programmes, 44% students are of other state, and 24% students in the postgraduate programmes are from other state. According to the highlighted scholarship scheme, ESIPGIMSR has granted scholarship, to academic year 2022-2013 out of which 188 students were provide scholarships. This financial support of the students improves the affordability of qualified medical education in the institute.
