Government Degree College, Gandacherra (GDC Gandacherra) was established in the year 2011, located in the town of Gandacherra in the state of Tripura. This is a co-educational college, with a campus 10.69 acres, that can provide undergraduate courses to hone the young talents. GDC Gandacherra, a leading professional institution, has expanded it’s capacity to accommodate 394 students and 10 faculties. The college provides 5 courses in 2 degrees of Arts focusing its major programmes in different disciplines of Arts. NAAC accredited GDC Gandacherra is one which has really proved its stance in providing quality education in this area.

The college provides several structures within the building meant to improve the learning environment of students. The well equipped library is the central focus of academic resources that contain about 3, 000 books of honors subjects and past lessons. ’Banajyostna’, an annual college magazine is another published work of the library, initiated and run by the Department of Bengali to sharpen the literary skill of the students. GDC Gandacherra possess an excellent campus IT facilities that aim to educate students with updated technologies. For the lovers of tracks and fields, the college provides different infrastructural amenities of this field and feel the pleasure of participating in inter collegiate competitions that improves the capacities of sporting spirit, stamina, health and team ability. The college offers four honours of B.A programme in Political Science, History, Education and Bengali in addition to an ordinary BA course The college admits a total of 394 students in all the courses offered and this makes it possible to accord the student special attention.

The college maintains a diverse student body, with a gender ratio of approximately 2:1 (male to female students). Quite notably, at present,  all the students attending the college are state residents.
