Government Girls Polytechnic Ballia was established in the year 2004 and affiliated with Acharya Narendra Dev University, Sultanpur, Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. Established in 1962, the institute is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education solely for women. Spread across a 6-acre campus, Polytechnic College has a total admission capacity of 358 and faculties 14 in number. Currently, the institute offers three full-time diploma courses and one postgraduate diploma in electronics engineering, information technology, and computer application. 

Government Girls Polytechnic has up-to-date facilities to enhance its educational activities and functions. The college has fully equipped computerised air conditioning, broadband internet connection, and video projection facilities for each lab, and all the necessary latest facilities required for a student are available in this college. Cabinet of knowledge, the library contains more than three thousand books that allow students to read in comfort. The faculty has designed a 120-bed girls’ hostel with a browsing facility and round-the-clock hot water facility for those students who need any sort of accommodation. The college also has concern for the health of students and often involves them in different outdoor and indoor sports events. 

There are three courses offered, all of which are under the full-time theme at the Government Girls Polytechnic, Ballia. These are a Diploma in Electronics Engineering, a course that takes a duration of three years; a Diploma in Information Technology that takes also a duration of three years; and a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA). Presently, the total student enrolment of the institute is 358, and each course admits 54 students. This structured approach will help maintain an environment that is conducive to learning and allow students to get the especially needed individual attention if they are entering the technical education.
