The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Panipat, was established in the year 1973, located at a distance of 3 km from the Panipat railway station. It has excellent connectivity through road and railway networks. Located on a 3-acre compact campus, the institute offers a focused learning environment that nurtures talent in the hospitality sector. The institute has a total enrolment of 243 students and a faculty strength of 4 members. The institute offers 3 full-time programs at two levels of degrees with in-depth specialisation in hospitality and hotel administration, food production, and food and beverage service.

The flagship program is the 3-year full-time B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration that intakes 120 students. For students looking at shorter, specialised programs, the institute offers two 2-year full-time diploma courses, Diploma in Food Production and Diploma in Food Beverage and Service, each with an intake of 40 students. The programs are carefully designed and balanced between theory and practice to make the students adept at taking up an exciting career in this highly dynamic hospitality sector.

Admission to IHM Panipat is strictly based on merit and very competitive. For the B.Sc. program, this is through the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE).
