    The Institute of Physics in Bhubaneswar provides its students with various scholarships that are awarded based on merit, financial need, and other criteria. During the initial two years of the Ph.D. program, which includes coursework, scholars receive a monthly fellowship of ₹ 31,000/-. After that, they are placed in the Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) category and receive ₹ 35,000/- per month.     • The process begins with an online application, which opens in June and closes in July. The application form can be found on the IOP website. 

    • Admission to all postgraduate and doctoral programs at the IOP is based on the performance of candidates on the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - National Eligibility Test (CSIR-NET) or GATE

    • The IOP then shortlists candidates for admission based on their JEST/CSIR-NET/GATE scores, after which shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. 

    • During the interview, an expert panel from the IOP assesses the candidate's academic knowledge, research interests, and motivation to pursue a postgraduate or doctoral degree in physics. 

    • Admission decisions are made based on the candidate's JEST/CSIR-NET/GATE scores, interview performance, and other factors. Selected candidates will be notified of their admission status.
