Islampur Government Polytechnic, set up in 2015, is a co-educational technical institute in Islampur of West Bengal. This government-owned institution is an affiliated college with an approval by the All India Council for Technical Education spread over 2 acres of land. The polytechnic runs three diploma courses with a total enrolment of 540 students supported by 12 faculty members. The Islampur Government Polytechnic aims at delivering quality technical education to young and budding engineers of the region in the disciplines of Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Survey Engineering.

Various facilities have been made available in the institute for academic and personal growth. A well-stocked library acts as a knowledge base, while modern laboratories for practical learning in various departments lend support in carrying out the said motto of the institution. The IT infrastructure also takes due care that the students are updated with the different latest technologies. Extracurricular activities are catered for by an auditorium capable of holding many different events and seminars. Sports facilities ensure that the physical fitness of their students is taken care of. A health center with first-aid services takes care of any medical needs. Other facilities include a cafeteria providing a shared area for students and staff to relax and socialize. The institution offers a suitable learning environment with spacious, well-ventilated classrooms, along with the duly constituted Training and Placement Cell to facilitate the process of campus recruitment, in order to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

Islampur Government Polytechnic offers a concentrated range of technical courses; all of these technical programs are full-time diploma courses. The institute currently offers three diploma courses; all of these are three-year programs. The three programs accommodate a total of 180 seats, with 60 seats in each program. Both theoretical and practical knowledge will be imparted to the students so that they have prosperous careers in their fields of choice.
