Jauhar Institute of Engineering and Technology was established as a constituent college in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, in the year 2010. The institute offers various programmes in the fields of engineering and technology to cater to the demands of students aspiring to attain quality technical education. There are 9 courses in 3 degrees: B.Tech, Diploma, and BCA. The campus of the institute is located at Jauhar Nagar, Rampur, which provides a friendly atmosphere for learning and growth.

There are quite a few facilities of the college that would be beneficial to students' experience and support for academic pursuit. One of the central facilities of the institute is a college library with about 35,000 volumes, and it adds around 5,000 to 6,000 volumes every year. A number of diploma courses are available for students wanting to pursue shorter, specialised courses – courses that are provided in areas of civil, electrical and electronics, and mechanical engineering. A student can pursue a BCA course if she/he wishes to pursue computer applications.

In JIET, the admission process has been designed in a systematic way so that it can easily be accessed by the students. Most engineering colleges take scores of national- or state-level engineering entrance exams.
