Marathwada College of Education, Aurangabad, was established in the year 1970. It is one of the important institutions in the area of teacher education located in Rouza Bagh, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. It is affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), and the courses are approved for teacher education. It is a co-educational college. The college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Spread over a 5-acre campus, the institute offers 2 degree programs and has an enrolment capacity of 532 students in total. 

The college has several facilities to support the students in their academics as well as personal development. The Library is the knowledge hub, which supports educational resources in abundance. The institution has a well-networked IT infrastructure that keeps its students interlinked with their world of education. The Marathwada College of Education conducts two full-time professional courses, namely, B.Ed and M.Ed., each of two years of study duration. The approved intake capacity for B. Ed is 100 and for M. Ed is 50, thus all the courses put together make a total intake capacity of 150 seats at one go. It is entirely devoted to teacher education and confers specialised training in this field.

For admission to Marathwada College of Education, candidates are selected on merit, based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and entrance examination. Admissions to the B.Ed program conform to the policy of the state government/UT administration, and the university, whereas for the M.Ed process merit shall be determined on the basis of performance in the qualifying examination or eligibility test or for selection on any other process according to the policy of the government and university.
