Established in 1958, The MLMN College of Education is of a high reputation, and situated in Chikmagalur of Karnataka. This affiliated college authorised under the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) focuses on the teacher training. The MLMN College of Education is a college located in Hejjala, Karnataka and occupies a total land space of 7 acres which provides ideal learning environment. Currently, the college has 96 learners and teaching staff of seven making the college have a good learner-teacher ratio. As a co-educational institution, it keeps doors open to both male and female students therefore creating an appropriate learning environment.

The MLMN College of Education boasts that to support the experience, it provides numerous amenities. A college has its special sports complex where sports fanatic can utilize the facilities provided by the college and a large hall of an auditorium is enclosed for conducting different functions, seminars etc. It serves in nurturing the students in their academic endeavours by availing to them a store –house of information – The Library. To meet up with the technological advancement in the world today the college has quality IT facilities and wireless campus. Teacher trainees can practice under good laboratory settings, in order to be equipped with essential skills. There is also a health centre to ensure students’ health and other first aid facilities for the college. Like most colleges and universities, the college provides hostel facility for female students who come from remote areas. Further, MLMN College of Education has also established functional alumni association who help connect the institution with former students.

In regard to academic programmes, MLMN College of Education at present offers only one full length programme – B.Ed programme. The college admits fifty students each in this two-year programme which gives an indication of the institutions’ policy to ensure quality delivery of education through small class sizes. 

The admission criteria that are practiced in MLMN College of Education are based on the marks one gets in the entrance exam, or the qualifying exam. From its humble beginning over six decades ago, MLMN College of Education remains relevant in molding student teachers.
